Hello! My name is Anna Flowers, and I’m a sewist, designer, and maker.

I grew up in Massachusetts, where I first learned to use a sewing machine and began experimenting with pattern design. I got my degree in Classics at NYU, and spent over a decade living and working in New York, where I met my fiancé. We now live in Colorado with our dog Banjo.
I’ve been sewing and designing my own clothes for most of my life. I love the physical craft of working with a needle, thread and fabric, but I’m equally drawn to the mathematical work of designing a pattern to fit the body. There is something so brilliant about the combination of these two arts that I find magical.
My focus is on work that is challenging, creatively fulfilling, and meaningful. As a solo operation, every piece I make takes several days or weeks, and sometimes even months to complete. The slow nature of crafting means I’m able to take time and really appreciate each and every piece I make, which lends meaning and value to my clothes after they are completed. I believe that when we feel a connection to our clothes and understand how they were made, we can become more mindful about what we need to own and buy.
Sewing is a specialized skill that takes time and effort to master, but it is also fundamentally doable. If you are interested in learning how to make something of your own, I highly recommend you do it! Feel free to email me for recommendations on how to get started, I’m more than happy to help.
I am currently open to commissions - please email me with the project you’re interested in working on as well as your budget, and we’ll chat!
